Black Entertainers Honor Actors, Reflect On Impeachment

President Clinton last night returned from his trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories to face the somber reality of almost certain impeachment by the House of Representatives. Republicans dashed White House hopes that the undecided group of moderate GOP House members would provide the swing vote against impeachment. One-by-one the Republicans announced they had reconsidered their position.
Salute to Civil Rights Champion Judge Higginbotham
He was lauded as the voice of the poor, the powerless and the downtrodden. A champion for civil rights, he was also one of the countrys most prominent and influential black judges. A. Leon Higginbotham, former Chief Judge of the 3rd U.S. District Court of Appeals and recipient of the presidential Medal of Honor, died this Monday in Boston. Just two weeks ago, Judge Higginbotham addressed the House Judiciary Committee and urged its members not to impeach President Clinton.
